Device Activation Guide

Congratulations on your new phone! This guide walks you through activating and setting up your Samsung or Apple device in a few minutes. If you get stuck at any step, our support team is happy to help.

Before you start

  • Charge your phone to at least 50%
  • Have a Wi-Fi connection ready
  • Have your SIM card (or eSIM details from your carrier) on hand
  • Know your Apple ID or Google/Samsung account login
  • If switching from an old phone, back it up first

Activating an iPhone

  1. Insert your SIM card using the SIM tray tool, or have your eSIM QR code ready.
  2. Hold the side button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. Follow the “Hello” screen: choose your language and country or region.
  4. Use Quick Start to transfer data from your old iPhone, or choose “Set Up Manually.”
  5. Connect to Wi-Fi. Your iPhone contacts Apple (and your carrier) to activate automatically.
  6. Set up Face ID or Touch ID and a passcode.
  7. Sign in with your Apple ID and restore from iCloud or your old device if you want.

Activating a Samsung Galaxy

  1. Insert your SIM card, or have your eSIM details ready.
  2. Hold the side key until the screen lights up.
  3. Choose your language and accept the terms.
  4. Connect to Wi-Fi.
  5. Sign in with your Google account (and optionally a Samsung account).
  6. Use Smart Switch to copy data from your old phone, or set up as new.
  7. Set a screen lock and biometrics, then finish the setup prompts.

Activating your SIM or eSIM

  • Physical SIM: Most carriers activate automatically once it’s inserted. Some require a call or an online activation step, so check the instructions that came with your SIM.
  • eSIM: Go to Settings, then Cellular (iPhone) or Connections > SIM manager (Samsung), and scan the QR code from your carrier.
  • Make sure your phone is unlocked or locked to the carrier you’re using. We list the lock status on every product page.
